Born in China and raised in New York, Angela Gao brings her cultural roots to modern city dressing. Her fashion faculty was hones at Parsons where her well-received thesis collection led to a nomination as Designer of the Year and an invitation from Donna Karan to design her Urban Zen Collective. Gao also worked with fellow rising Asian-American star Doo Ri and at DKNY before establishing ANGG New York.
ANGG's flowing silhouettes and sophisticated urban sensibility offer a fresh concept for modern city dressing. Since its launch in 2008, the label has attracted attention for its edgy, contemporary apparel in comfortable, forgiving cuts that reach out to women across the market. The brand is currently selling in over 20 stores across the United States and international markets. The first standalone ANGG retail store opened in March 2009 in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
